"Oblivion Remastered Keeps Iconic Line Flub"
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered brings a fresh take on one of Bethesda's landmark titles, enhancing visuals, gameplay mechanics, and more. Yet, the team at Virtuos made sure to preserve one of the original's most beloved quirks, including an iconic line from the game.
Long-time fans of The Elder Scrolls series will recognize Master Speechcraft trainer Tandilwe, a High Elf located in the Temple of the One in the Imperial City. When Oblivion first launched for PC and Xbox 360 over 19 years ago, it was evident that Tandilwe needed some speech training herself. One of her voice lines features a recording that has long been thought to be an accidental inclusion of actress Linda Kenyon's second attempt at the line.

As players embarked on their journey through the revitalized world of Cyrodiil, many were eager to discover how faithful the ground-up remaster truly is. While numerous environments, character models, and items have been revamped, fans have been delighted to find that many of the original game's charming imperfections remain. Tandilwe’s well-known blooper, which adds a touch of humor to the game, has returned unchanged, retaining its original lack of subtitles.

In a 2019 interview with Jake 'The Voice' Parr on YouTube, Linda Kenyon, upon learning that her blooper had become an internet sensation, humorously remarked, "It wasn't my fault!"
As thousands of players dive into Oblivion Remastered, discussions are ongoing about whether the Bethesda re-release should be considered more of a remake than a remaster. However, many are simply pleased to see much of the original game's quirky charm preserved. Both Bethesda and Virtuos were committed to maintaining these elements, and so far, it seems to resonate well with both new and returning players.
