April's Nintendo Direct: A Glimpse into the Future
The report confirms several first-party game releases in 2025. Donkey Kong Country Returns HD (January 16th) and Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition (March 20th) are set for early release. Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond are also planned for 2025, but without confirmed release dates. Further announcements are anticipated during the Nintendo Direct on Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025 (broadcast time to be announced later). While the focus may be on the Switch 2, fans eagerly await potential reveals of exclusive Switch 2 titles.
Hands-on with the Nintendo Switch 2
The Nintendo Switch 2 is slated for release in the latter half of 2025. To build anticipation, Nintendo is hosting "Nintendo Switch 2 Experience" events at 15 global locations (including New York, Tokyo, and Amsterdam) starting in April. While registration for many locations has closed, waitlists are available. Applications for the Japan events remain open until February 20th JST. Super Nintendo World Expands to Orlando
Nintendo's expansion strategy extends to theme parks. A new Super Nintendo World will open at Universal Orlando Resort's Epic Universe in Orlando, Florida, on May 22nd, 2025. This follows the successful launch of Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood. The Orlando park will feature environments inspired by Super Mario Land and Donkey Kong Country.
