After years of speculation, Nintendo has finally unveiled the details of the much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2, and the specs are more impressive than many expected. The new console supports up to 120fps and can deliver stunning 4K resolution when docked, elevating the gaming experience to new heights.

During today's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo showcased several key features of the system. The Nintendo Switch 2 boasts a larger 7.9-inch built-in screen compared to its predecessor, while maintaining the same thickness of 13.9mm. The screen, an LCD with HDR support, offers about double the pixels and can run games at 1080p in handheld mode at up to 120fps. When docked, it can support up to 4K resolution with HDR, promising breathtaking visuals.

The Joy-Con 2 controllers feature a new magnetic connection and can be detached using a release button on the back. The SL and SR buttons on the sides are larger for enhanced comfort during horizontal play, and the left and right sticks have also been enlarged. Additionally, this segment officially introduced mouse control support within the Joy-Con controllers, offering new ways to interact with games.

The handheld version of the Nintendo Switch 2 includes a built-in microphone with noise-canceling technology and 3D audio for compatible games, enhancing the immersive experience. It also features a larger, more robust adjustable stand than the original Switch, allowing for different viewing heights. A top USB port adds versatility, enabling external camera connectivity or charging the system in tabletop mode.

Nintendo also revealed that the Nintendo Switch 2 will come with 256GB of internal storage, providing ample space for games and media.
