Nintendo Shuts Down Animal Crossing Pocket Camp
Nintendo's popular mobile game, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, is officially shutting down. The news has taken many players by surprise, leaving them wondering what's next for their cozy campsites.
The Shutdown Date: November 28th, 2024
Online services for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will end on November 28th, 2024. This means no more Leaf Tickets, and Pocket Camp Club memberships will cease auto-renewal on October 28th (no refunds for existing memberships after that date, though you'll receive a commemorative badge). Your last chance to grab Leaf Tickets is November 26th. The final online farewell is scheduled for 7:00 AM PST on November 28th.
A Silver Lining: Offline Play!
While online services are ending, Nintendo plans to release a paid offline version of the game. While features like the Market Box, gifting, and visiting friends' campsites will be absent, the core gameplay experience will remain. Your saved progress will carry over, allowing continued offline play. Expect more details on this paid offline version around October 2024.
This shutdown follows a trend of Nintendo phasing out its mobile games, including Dr. Mario World and Dragalia Lost. While unexpected for many, the closure of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is not entirely shocking given this pattern.
