The Collaboration's Shortcomings:

The initial designs, created collaboratively by Shift Up and the Nikke team, were deemed too suggestive by Evangelion's creators, leading to alterations. While the revised designs satisfied the licensors, they lacked the appeal necessary to excite the player base. The costumes, particularly Asuka's premium gacha skin, were considered too similar to her base model, offering little incentive for players to spend.

Player Feedback and Future Implications:

Beyond the costumes, the event itself felt drawn-out and lacked compelling engagement. Players felt the collaboration diluted Nikke's established identity, known for its bold character designs and strong narrative. The underwhelming designs and overall event execution discouraged investment.
