This guide details its location and stats, obtainable during your first playthrough.

Where To Find The Engine Blade In NieR: Automata

The Engine Blade is located within the factory area, but not accessible during the game's opening sequence. You'll need to revisit as 2B. Chapter Select (Chapter 9) provides a shortcut. Begin at the Factory: Hanger access point.

Exiting the access point, veer right, following the path into a 2D perspective section. Navigate past a fenced area, ascend broken stairs, and ride a conveyor belt with crates. The next belt features deadly presses; carefully avoid them. Jump to the next cylindrical area, where spider-like enemies will appear.

Enter the door to your left, climbing more stairs while dodging exploding enemies. A railing ends midway; the platform extends towards the camera. Shift the camera angle to initiate another 2D platforming sequence, jumping across presses to the left. The final room contains three chests. The Engine Blade is in the leftmost chest; a locked chest is on the right.

Beware: additional exploding enemies will descend from the ceiling as you approach.
