Nicolas Cage condemns the use of artificial intelligence in acting, asserting that actors who allow AI to influence their performances are heading towards "a dead end." He made this statement during his Saturn Awards acceptance speech for Best Actor in Dream Scenario, as reported by Variety.

Cage emphasized his belief in the irreplaceable role of human experience in artistic expression. He stated that robots are incapable of truly reflecting the human condition, warning that even minor AI manipulation can lead to a complete erosion of artistic integrity, ultimately prioritizing financial gain over authenticity.

"The job of all art...is to hold a mirror to the external and internal stories of the human condition through the very human thoughtful and emotional process of recreation. A robot can’t do that," Cage declared. He further cautioned that allowing AI to dictate artistic expression would result in a loss of heart, edge, and genuine human response.

Cage's concerns are echoed by other actors, particularly in the voice acting field where AI-generated performances are becoming increasingly common, even in major video game productions. Ned Luke (Grand Theft Auto 5) and Doug Cockle (The Witcher) have both expressed their apprehension about AI's potential to displace actors and undermine their livelihoods.

The filmmaking community is also divided on the issue. While Tim Burton expressed his unease with AI-generated art, Zack Snyder advocates for embracing the technology rather than resisting it.
