First Mortal Kombat 1 T-1000 Gameplay Looks Straight Out of Terminator 2, and There's a Surprise Kameo DLC Character Coming Too

Get ready for some serious metallic mayhem! NetherRealm Studios has unleashed the first gameplay footage of the T-1000, the highly anticipated DLC guest character for Mortal Kombat 1. This liquid metal menace brings his signature Terminator 2 arsenal to the fight, showcasing attacks that recall the iconic film, including his blade and hook arms. His moveset blends elements reminiscent of Baraka and Kabal, culminating in a truly spectacular liquid metal uppercut, echoing Killer Instinct's Glacius.
The T-1000, voiced and portrayed by the legendary Robert Patrick, faces off against Johnny Cage in a thrilling preview. The teaser culminates in a jaw-dropping Fatality that faithfully recreates the thrilling truck chase scene from Terminator 2, with the T-1000 emerging from the driver's seat to deliver a lead-filled finale to Cage's short-lived reign.
But that's not all! NetherRealm surprised fans with the announcement of Madam Bo, a fan-favorite character from the Mortal Kombat 1 story mode, joining the roster as a DLC Kameo fighter. Catch a quick glimpse of her in action, assisting the T-1000 in the teaser.
The T-1000 becomes available March 18th as part of early access for Khaos Reigns owners, with general release on March 25th. Madam Bo arrives on March 18th as a free update for Khaos Reigns owners or a standalone purchase.
The T-1000 marks the final DLC character for the Khaos Reigns expansion, following Cyrax, Sektor, Noob Saibot, Ghostface, and Conan the Barbarian. While fan speculation swirls around a potential Kombat Pack 3, Warner Bros. Discovery's commitment to the Mortal Kombat franchise remains strong, with CEO David Zaslav emphasizing their intention to double down on only four key titles, Mortal Kombat being one of them.
Ed Boon, Mortal Kombat's creative director, previously stated that NetherRealm had planned their next game three years prior, while promising continued support for Mortal Kombat 1. While many anticipate a third installment in the Injustice franchise, neither NetherRealm nor Warner Bros. has confirmed this. Boon has hinted at various factors influencing their decision, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the transition to a new Unreal Engine. However, he explicitly confirmed that the door remains open for future Injustice titles.
