New Monster Outbreaks Feature Tested in Monster Hunter Now

Monster Hunter Now is buzzing with excitement as Niantic introduces a brand-new concept known as Monster Outbreaks. This experimental feature is currently being put through its paces to gather player feedback and determine if any adjustments are needed before it becomes a permanent addition.

When Are the Monster Outbreaks Being Tested?

The trial period kicks off on April 26th and wraps up on April 27th. Each day, the event will run twice—once from 10:00 AM to 10:59 AM and again from 3:00 PM to 3:59 PM, local time. This gives players ample opportunity to dive into the action on both Saturday and Sunday.

During this event, specific locations on the map will transform into outbreak zones where clusters of 8-star Black Diablos will appear. Players must team up with others to defeat a collective total of 100 Black Diablos at a single outbreak location within the specified hour.

To join in, hunters must have a Hunter Rank (HR) of 11 or higher. Additionally, solo efforts won’t count; only in-person group hunts qualify. Outbreak zones are highlighted on the map with a distinctive icon. Tapping on one reveals further details, including a sign-up list where participants can coordinate their efforts.

The Black Diablos’ appearance has been amplified, ensuring an intense swarm-like challenge. For every monster defeated by a team of four hunters, four kills are credited toward the 100-monster target. Should the quota be met before the timer expires, players can continue hunting for the remainder of the hour. During this time, only Black Diablos will spawn.

Rewards await those who successfully complete the task. Upon reaching the 100-monster milestone, participants will receive 3 Black Diablos Tailcases, 3 Ridges, 3 Primeshells, 3 Marrows, and 2,000 Zenny. Those who utilize the sign-up roster will also earn a special Outbreak Test I Medal.
