Monster Hunter World: Wilds director Yuya Tokuda recently unveiled the details of the upcoming May 28 Ver. 1.011 update, promising an array of exciting new features and modifications. Among these updates is a collaboration with Street Fighter 6, bringing the iconic character Akuma into the game. Players will receive an exclusive Arkuma armor set, along with layered armor options. Ver. 1.011 will also introduce eight-star "challenging" monsters, such as Gore Magala, Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra, and Jin Dahaad, which will become available for hunting at HR 41 and above. These monsters will provide players with additional challenges beyond the current Arkveld encounters, featuring enhanced resilience with increased health, wound resistance, and multiplayer scaling adjustments. Tokuda noted that Tempered Gore Magala presents a formidable challenge even for seasoned hunters. As players progress, they can expect more high-difficulty quests and multi-monster hunts.

In terms of gameplay adjustments, several weapons—including the Hammer, Hunting Horn, Gunlance, Light Bowgun, and Heavy Bowgun—will undergo various optimizations. Certain Gunlance Artian weapon aspects have been enhanced, while others have seen parameter reductions. Tokuda emphasized that overall, all weapon types will have expanded possibilities, encouraging players to experiment with the updated tools. Additionally, the Hammer and Dual Blades will receive specific improvements.

Other quality-of-life enhancements include resting spots in the Grand Hub and Suja, Peaks of Accord, which restore all destroyed Pop-up Camps. When the item pouch is full, acquiring items will automatically send them to the item box, eliminating confirmation prompts. Meal effect timers now display 10 minutes before expiration, and all notifications have been streamlined to focus on higher-priority alerts without obstructing map interactions.

Tokuda also announced that players will soon be able to view individual endemic life forms they've captured. By selecting "Check Endemic Life" in the Windward Plains' Ecological Research menu, players can inspect their creatures, including their names, sizes, and weights. Favorite creatures can be retained even beyond storage limits, allowing players to cherish unique specimens. Stability improvements, particularly on Steam, accompany the addition of eight-star monsters, along with increased rewards for eight-star investigations and field surveys. Fishing Guild Point rewards have been rebalanced, though specifics remain undisclosed.

Monster Hunter World: Wilds continues to refine the series’ mechanics, offering dynamic environments and a compelling narrative.
