Build A Rocket Boy, the studio behind MindsEye, has unveiled a new game trailer while confirming its $59.99 retail price and launch content details.

Led by former Rockstar North veteran Leslie Benzies, Build A Rocket Boy announced MindsEye will launch on June 10, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

Set in the futuristic metropolis of Redrock, MindsEye offers a meticulously designed linear campaign. Players assume the role of Jacob Diaz, an ex-soldier grappling with fragmented memories from his experimental MindsEye neural implant as he unravels a conspiracy involving rogue AI, corporate corruption, military conspiracy, and an existential threat to humanity. The story unfolds with cutting-edge visuals powered by Unreal Engine 5.

Equally intriguing is MindsEye’s exclusive PC game creation system, allowing players to craft custom experiences using the game’s full asset library.

The studio emphasized that the $59.99 price point marks "a welcome alternative to the industry’s growing $70–$80 standard for AAA titles." But what exactly does this package include?

At launch, players receive the tightly crafted story campaign and single-player free roam mode, alongside several missions: the horde mode "Destruction Site Shootout," plus two combat missions titled "Honor Amongst Thieves" and "Friendly Fire." The package also features six standard races, six checkpoint races, and three drone races. Premium Pass owners gain an additional horde mode mission and an exotic cosmetics bundle.

The pricing of modern games remains fiercely debated, especially following Nintendo’s jump to $80 for Mario Kart World and Microsoft’s planned holiday price hikes. Other publishers, like Gearbox with Borderlands 4, are sparking controversy with similar proposed increases. Meanwhile, mid-range titles like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and 2K’s Mafia: The Old Country have thrived at $50—positioning MindsEye strategically between these market tiers.

Beyond launch, Build A Rocket Boy promises a "steady flow" of premium content updates monthly, aiming to keep MindsEye dynamic and evolving. These will introduce new missions, challenges, and in-game assets. The 2025 roadmap outlines seasonal expansions: summer brings community updates and missions, fall introduces new single-player modes and multiplayer features, while winter expands free roam and adds fresh missions. Premium Pass holders receive exclusive content throughout the year.
