Marvel's Wolverine: Updates Under Wraps

While Insomniac outlined their future plans, details on the highly anticipated Marvel's Wolverine remained scarce. In a Variety interview, Co-Head Chad Dezern stated that while a new team is working on "great projects with a really ambitious roadmap," they are focused on existing projects and aren't ready to reveal information on upcoming releases, including confirming or denying a 2025 release for Marvel's Wolverine. "As much as we have pent-up excitement, we've got to hold on to it," Dezern explained.

Marvel's Wolverine: Unveiled in 2021

In a 2023 interview with Kinda Funny, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Creative Director Bryan Intihar confirmed that Wolverine shares the same universe as Spider-Man, stating they are "all in 1048." While both games were announced at the same showcase, fan hopes for crossovers or shared teasers have been tempered, with only a Wolverine-themed suit ("The Best There Is") appearing as an easter egg in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 for Miles Morales. A December 2023 ransomware attack briefly exposed some of Wolverine's development assets and gameplay footage to the public.

Insomniac Games' Current Projects

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 launches on PC January 30, 2025, as announced at New York Comic-Con 2025. Insomniac has confirmed no further DLC is planned for the game. The PC port will include all updates from the PS5 release, such as new suits, New Game+, and more, and will be available in Standard and Digital Deluxe editions, the latter offering exclusive suits.
