Marvel Rivals has listened to its community and reversed its previous plans for mid-season player rank resets. Initially announced in Dev Talk 10, the plan to reset player ranks and drop them four divisions every 45 days sparked widespread discontent among players. Responding swiftly, the developers shared a new update via their official Marvel Rivals Twitter (X) account with Dev Talk 11, confirming that there will be no mid-season rank resets. Players will now retain their scores and ranks from the first half of the season. However, end-of-season rank resets will still occur, with players dropping down six divisions.

Exciting Updates on the Horizon: Human Torch, The Thing, and More

While the mid-season rank reset has been scrapped, Marvel Rivals continues to roll out other exciting updates. Fans can look forward to the addition of new heroes, Human Torch and The Thing, bringing the total roster to 39 heroes. NetEase Games has committed to introducing two new characters every season, with each season spanning three months.

Moreover, the rewards system remains robust for players reaching Gold rank and above. Those achieving Gold rank will receive a free Invisible Woman costume, while those at Grandmaster rank and above will be awarded Crests of Honor. At the end of the season, players reaching Gold rank will receive another free costume, and Grandmaster and above will again be honored with Crests of Honor. Although balance adjustments are expected after the mid-season update, specific details are yet to be disclosed.
