Nexus Mods owner, TheDarkOne, clarified the situation on Reddit, stating that both mods were removed simultaneously to prevent accusations of political bias. TheDarkOne noted a curious silence from YouTube commentators on this simultaneous removal.

However, this decision didn't quell the controversy. TheDarkOne reported receiving threats and hateful messages following the removals, including death threats and accusations of pedophilia.

This isn't the first time Nexus Mods' moderation policies have caused contention. A similar incident occurred in 2022 with the removal of a Spider-Man Remastered mod that replaced rainbow flags. At that time, Nexus Mods openly supported inclusivity and its stance against discriminatory content.
