Marvel Rivals Season 1 Mid-Season Update: No Rank Reset

A recent Marvel Rivals update sparked confusion regarding a potential rank reset. While many live-service games reset ranks at the start of each season, NetEase Games initially planned a mid-season reset for Marvel Rivals Season 1 on February 21, 2025, coinciding with the release of The Thing and Human Torch.

However, due to significant player feedback expressing concerns about the frequency of rank resets, NetEase reversed course. The developer announced that there will be no mid-season rank reset. Players will retain their existing ranks and scores. To earn new rewards (including a Gold rank costume and Crests of Honor), players only need to complete 10 competitive matches and meet the required conditions by the end of the season.

This decision highlights NetEase's responsiveness to player feedback and demonstrates a commitment to improving the competitive experience. The absence of a reset provides higher-ranked players with extended time to compete at their current level.

Season 1 Mid-Season Update Details:

Beyond the cancellation of the rank reset, the mid-season update introduces The Thing and Human Torch as playable characters. Specific character balance adjustments (buffs and nerfs) haven't been detailed yet.
