It's been an interesting few years for Marvel enthusiasts. Although the MCU's momentum has slowed slightly, we've seen notable successes like Marvel Rivals, and many top mobile titles continue to thrive. Among them, Kabam's enduring hit Marvel Contest of Champions remains particularly strong!

The battle continues as Alliance War season 61 introduces a brand new tactical approach. This season's primary focus is Defense, with special emphasis on non-damaging debuffs - you'll face encounters that demand greater endurance.

Champions including High Evolutionary, M.O.D.O.K., Mister Negative and Stryfe will all gain advantages from the new defense tactic. The Wrath defense tactic enables you to accumulate Rage debuffs; once you stack seven, the defender receives an Unstoppable passive. Meanwhile, attackers with Forbearance can knock down defenders to obtain an Endurance passive, effectively countering these abilities!

Tactical evolution

These new tactics represent a significant step toward streamlining the overall tactical landscape. Of course, in a game as complex as Contest of Champions, you'll also need to consider the updated ban list when assembling your team for this season.

While you can reference our regularly updated Marvel Contest of Champions tier list, here's an important heads-up: if you regularly use Mister Sinister or Deathless Thanos, be aware they've been added to this season's ban list. On the positive side, numerous characters are now whitelisted, including Thunderbolt favorites Yelena Belova and Baron Zemo (at least based on their comic book versions).
