Marvel Contest of Champions Champion Cards Guide

Marvel Contest of Champions (MCoC) extends beyond mobile gaming; it boasts an arcade version at Dave & Buster's, offering a unique competitive experience. This arcade cabinet allows two-player 3v3 battles, with the victor decided by a best-of-three series. The unique feature? Both players receive a Champion Card after each match – a physical collectible featuring a Marvel hero or villain from the game.

These cards aren't just for show; they're scannable in the arcade machine to select specific champions before a match. With two series released, over 175 cards exist, including standard and rarer foil variants. This guide details everything about MCoC Champion Cards, whether you're aiming for strategic advantage or collection completion.
What are Champion Cards?
MCoC Champion Cards are physical trading cards dispensed by MCoC arcade machines at Dave & Buster's. Each card represents a game character and is used to select champions for arcade matches. Without scanned cards, the machine randomly selects champions.
Each card showcases an MCoC Marvel character and has a foil variant, mirroring other collectible arcade cards (e.g., Mario Kart Arcade GP, Injustice Arcade). Series 1 featured 75 champions; Series 2 added 100, including reskins of Series 1 characters.
A Champion Card is dispensed to each player post-match, regardless of win or loss. The card is randomly selected from the existing series (Series 1: 75 champions, Series 2: 100 champions), each with a rarer foil variant.
While not mandatory for arcade gameplay, Champion Cards add strategic depth and personalization. Instead of random champion assignments, players can strategically choose their favorites. Note that these cards don't transfer to the mobile MCoC game but enhance the arcade experience with a collectible element. For mobile MCoC improvement tips, check out our beginner's guide!
Champion Card Rarity and Collectibility
Similar to traditional trading cards, MCoC Champion Cards are highly collectible. While all cards function identically in-game, the pursuit of complete sets, including rare foil versions, drives many collectors. Series 2 introduced new designs and reskins, resulting in multiple versions of some characters.
Available Cards:
- Series 1 (2019): 75 cards featuring classic MCoC characters.
- Series 2 (later release): 100 cards, including Series 1 reskins and new characters.
- Foil Variants: Rarer, more valuable versions of standard cards.
Collectors aim for complete sets, specific Marvel characters, or solely foil cards. Their Dave & Buster's exclusivity adds to their appeal for Marvel enthusiasts. For digital roster building, play MCoC on PC with BlueStacks for enhanced control, screen size, and smoother gameplay.
Where to Get MCoC Champion Cards
Currently, these cards are exclusively available at Dave & Buster's locations with the MCoC arcade cabinet. They're not obtainable through in-game purchases or the mobile MCoC version.
Acquisition Strategies:
- Frequent arcade gameplay for new cards.
- Trading with other collectors to complete sets.
- Online marketplaces for purchasing extra cards.
- Monitoring Dave & Buster's updates for future series releases.
