Mark Your Calendars, Warzone Fans — Call of Duty Merch Shop Teases We're 'Dropping Back In' To Verdansk Next Week
Get ready for a blast from the past! It looks like the highly anticipated return of Verdansk to Call of Duty: Warzone is happening on March 10th. Activision initially teased Verdansk's comeback last August, promising a Spring 2025 release, but now a countdown timer on the Call of Duty shop confirms the March 10th date (thanks, InsiderGaming).
A simple, yet evocative image accompanies the countdown: a snowy alpine scene featuring a dam, pine trees, and a crashed plane— instantly recognizable to veteran Warzone players who remember the original Verdansk map before its replacements. Currently, the only way to experience this classic map is through Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile.
This news is a major win for fans who were disheartened by the 2021 announcement that the original Verdansk was gone for good.
Meanwhile, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 2 has launched, bringing five new multiplayer maps (Bounty, Dealership, Lifeline, Bullet, and Grind), the return of Gun Game, new weapons, operators, and a pricey Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover. Warzone, however, received less content than initially planned due to the team focusing on bug fixes, gameplay tuning, and quality-of-life improvements.
