Street Fighter 6 welcomes a new fighter, reigniting player interest. The latest addition is Mai Shiranui, a popular character from the Fatal Fury franchise.

Capcom's Street Fighter 6, a resounding success, boasts impressive sales figures, reaching 4.4 million copies sold by December 31, 2024. While some fans have expressed concerns about the game's content updates, the introduction of Mai Shiranui has proven a significant boost.

Mai Shiranui, the third character in the game's second season, has dramatically increased Street Fighter 6's popularity. On her release day, Steam's peak concurrent player count soared past 63,000, a substantial increase from the previous peak of 24-27,000 and the best result since May 2024.

Access to Mai is currently limited to Battle Pass holders. World Tour mode allows players to build relationships with Mai, learn her moves, and then put their skills to the test in Battle Hub. A second costume, inspired by her appearance in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, has also been added.

Adding to the excitement, Battle Hub features a temporary guest appearance by Professor Woshige, a renowned fighting game developer and legend. Players can experience his unique style until March 10th. The update also includes new Master League ranks and rewards.
