Crystal Dynamics and Lost in Cult Announce New Legacy of Kain Encyclopedia and Tabletop RPG
Crystal Dynamics, in collaboration with UK-based Lost in Cult and Cook and Becker, has announced two exciting additions to the Legacy of Kain universe. Following the December 2024 release of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered, fans can now look forward to a comprehensive encyclopedia and a thrilling tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG).
The Book of Nosgoth: An Official Encyclopedia
The first project, The Book of Nosgoth, is an official encyclopedia penned by Nic Reuben of Rock Paper Shotgun. This meticulously crafted volume promises a deep dive into the lore of Nosgoth, covering key locations, factions, characters, and the epic Kain and Raziel saga. Beyond the rich narrative, the encyclopedia will feature behind-the-scenes content, including concept art, sketches, maps, and developer interviews, offering an unparalleled look into the creation of all five Legacy of Kain games.
Legacy of Kain: Scourge of Sarafan – A New TTRPG
The second project, Legacy of Kain: Scourge of Sarafan, is a TTRPG set during the Sarafan Order's brutal campaign against vampires. Utilizing the MÖRK BORG ruleset, this mechanics-light game puts players in the role of Sarafan warrior priests. Players will experience high-stakes vampire hunts, explore Nosgoth’s hidden history, and venture into the spectral realm. The game features six playable classes, unique weapons and spells, and a bestiary of Nosgoth's creatures.
