Recruiting Surfer Jay: A Guide to Finding Kraken-Chan

Surfer Jay, a powerful recruit with high base stats, awaits in Honolulu. However, his recruitment requires a bit more legwork than other crew members. The key is obtaining Kraken-Chan, a blue plush toy.

The easiest approach is to first visit Madlantis. Head to the arcade tent opposite the Madlantis Golf Range. There, you'll find a UFO Catcher claw machine. Your goal: Kraken-Chan. It's not guaranteed to be available; if not, ask the attendant to change the prizes.

Winning Kraken-Chan might take several tries, so ensure you have sufficient cash. Use strategic claw movements to nudge the plush into the collection slot.

Once you have Kraken-Chan, sail back to Honolulu. Locate Surfer Jay at Tropical Coco in the Anaconda Shopping Center (use the mini-map to find the pirate recruit symbol if needed). He's usually near his surfboard in a garage.

Speak to Jay; he'll reveal his relationship woes. Present him with Kraken-Chan, and he'll join your crew. While he doesn't have unique perks as First Mate or Boarding Squad Leader, he's a valuable addition for completionists.
