KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global Shutdown: Offline Version in the Works?
It's the third consecutive day that I'm covering the end-of-service (EOS) for another game, and this time it's KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global, which has officially come to an end. Today, January 30th, marks the game's final day, with servers preparing for a shutdown. So, what's next?
How Long Did This One Last?
Developed by Sumzap and initially published by Nexon before being handed over to Sesisoft, KonoSuba: Fantastic Days was indeed a great game. However, it's important to recognize that its run was relatively short-lived.
The global servers of KonoSuba: Fantastic Days lasted for 3.5 years, while the Japanese version managed to keep going for a solid 5 years. For an anime-based gacha game, this is a respectable duration, especially considering the revenue had been declining for some time.
The developers have clearly shifted their focus to their new project, the Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade gacha game. Before shutting down KonoSuba: Fantastic Days, they maintained the game until the very end, releasing voiced story updates and even a final song just three weeks ago.
They also organized a farewell livestream in December, featuring Kazuma's voice actor. The Japanese version went the extra mile by archiving the entire main story on their YouTube channel, allowing players to relive the adventures of Kazuma and his quirky team at any time. Additionally, they provided an offline version where players can still enjoy the game's story, voicelines, and character collection.
Unfortunately, KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global will not have an offline version or a dedicated YouTube channel. However, fans can still visit the Japanese YouTube channel to spend more time with Kazuma, Aqua, Megumin, and the rest of the gang.
So, that concludes our coverage of the KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global shutdown. Meanwhile, stay tuned for our next news piece on Karrablast and Shelmet featured in the February Community Day of Pokémon Go.
