The storyline centers on the Rune of Change, one of the 27 True Runes that are said to have shaped the world. The protagonist, Hou, the son of a village chief, embarks on his journey after successfully completing his first hunt, only for his village to be attacked, setting the stage for a quest to restore peace. Accompanying Hou are Hisui, his servant with a mysterious emotional suppression; Shirin, his childhood friend driven by a strong sense of justice; and Shapur, a former general turned butler.

While the Suikoden community is excited, there's a mix of anticipation and uncertainty. Fans have been eagerly awaiting a proper continuation of the series, and the announcement of STAR LEAP, which appears to be a gacha game, has stirred mixed reactions.
