The wait is over for fans of the iconic video game series as Netflix unveils its much-anticipated anime adaptation of "Devil May Cry." Excitement levels have surged with the release of a brand new trailer, but the buzz doesn't stop there. The series is set to feature the late, legendary voice actor Kevin Conroy in a posthumous role, adding an extra layer of anticipation for viewers.

Kevin Conroy, celebrated globally for his iconic portrayal of Bruce Wayne and Batman in numerous animated series and films, will lend his voice to the character VP Baines. Fans can hear Conroy's distinct voice at the opening of the trailer, bringing to life a new character in the "Devil May Cry" universe. Conroy's last acclaimed performance was in "Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 3" in July 2024, making his involvement in this series a poignant tribute to his enduring legacy following his passing in November 2022 at the age of 66.

Joining Conroy in the cast are Scout Taylor-Compton as Mary, Hoon Lee as White Rabbit, Chris Coppola as Enzo, and Johnny Yong Bosch voicing the lead, Dante. According to the official synopsis from Netflix, the series unfolds as "Sinister forces are at play to open the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck."

Adi Shankar, known for his work on films like the 2012 "Dredd" reboot, "Killing Them Softly," and "The Voices," will serve as the showrunner for the series. Shankar's involvement in other projects, such as the long-awaited "Assassin’s Creed" adaptation announced in 2017, adds to his diverse portfolio, though the status of that project remains uncertain.

The animation will be handled by Studio Mir, the acclaimed South Korean studio behind "The Legend of Korra" and "X-Men '97." "Devil May Cry" is slated for release on Netflix on April 3, 2025, promising a thrilling addition to the anime landscape.
