Journalists shared their impressions of Civilization 7 in final previews
Civilization VII previews are overwhelmingly positive, despite initial concerns about gameplay changes from previous iterations. Reviewers praise several key aspects:
-
Dynamic Era Focus: Each new era allows players to refocus their civilization's development, while still benefiting from past achievements.
-
Personalized Leader Bonuses: Frequently used leaders unlock unique bonuses, adding a layer of personalized strategy.
-
Era-Specific Gameplay: The multiple eras (antiquity, modernity, etc.) offer distinct, self-contained gameplay experiences within each time period.
-
Adaptive Crisis Management: The game's flexibility allows players to overcome challenges. One review highlighted a scenario where neglecting military development led to a crisis, but resourceful adaptation allowed for recovery.
Civilization VII launches February 11th on PlayStation, PC, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, and is Steam Deck verified.
