This month celebrates the 20th anniversary of the iconic film Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, the final installment of the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. Released on May 19, 2005, this movie marked George Lucas's last directorial venture into the Star Wars universe before selling Lucasfilm to Disney in 2012. Fans eagerly anticipated how Anakin Skywalker would succumb to the Dark Side and become Darth Vader, but the fate of the other Jedi remained a mystery. The film introduced Order 66, a sinister scheme by Palpatine that commanded Clone Troopers to turn against and eliminate the Jedi. With thousands of Jedi in service, it was inevitable that some would escape this purge, including those who were essential to the storyline of the Original Trilogy.

In the vast expanse of canon Star Wars narratives, we've identified several dozen Jedi who survived Order 66. We've ranked the top 10 based on their significant impact on the Star Wars universe. Some of these survivors lived only briefly after the order was issued, while others thrived much longer, and in some cases, their ultimate fates are still shrouded in mystery. Each of these Jedi managed to live at least one more day after Palpatine's chilling command to "Execute Order 66."

For clarity, our list includes only those who were part of the Jedi Order before Order 66, ranging from Padawans to Jedi Masters and even the youngest Jedi Initiates. This excludes Force-users like Maul and Palpatine, as well as those who received informal training without ever joining the Order, such as Jod Na Nawood. The case of Asajj Ventress presents a unique challenge; trained by Jedi Ky Narec on Rattatak, she never visited Coruscant or met the Jedi Council, and later turned to the Dark Side under Dooku. Thus, she earns an honorable mention but is not officially counted among the Jedi survivors.
