This new gaming console will come in two distinct versions: a Japanese-language system and a Multi-Language System. Enthusiasts in Japan can grab the Japanese version for approximately $330, while the global Multi-Language System will retail at $449.99, reflecting a significant $100+ price difference. This variance is largely due to the current weakness of the yen against the US dollar, impacting tourist purchases in Japan.

For those living in Japan, there's still the option to purchase the Multi-Language System. However, the Japanese-language version is exclusively available within Japan and can only be linked to Nintendo Accounts set to the Japan region. This version supports only the Japanese language and is limited to software available on the Japanese Nintendo eShop.

Nintendo advises fans who want to use the Switch 2 in multiple languages to opt for the Multi-Language System version. More detailed information about this version will be disclosed on April 4.

Switch 2 Will Be Sold By Lottery At The My Nintendo Store

Acquiring the Nintendo Switch 2 will be through a lottery system at the My Nintendo Store. Additionally, nationwide retailers and online shops will start accepting reservations or lottery entries from April 24, subject to stock availability. To participate in the My Nintendo Store lottery, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• By February 28, 2025, you must have logged at least 50 hours of playtime on Nintendo Switch software, excluding demo and free software.
• At the time of application, you must have been subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online for a cumulative period of at least one year and remain an active subscriber.
