The iPhone 16e succeeds the iPhone SE (last updated in 2022), but offers a significant upgrade in size and specifications. While priced higher than the SE ($429), at $599 it remains considerably cheaper than the standard iPhone 16 ($799) and even undercuts the iPhone 15 ($699).
iPhone 16e Specifications
The iPhone 16e boasts a 6.1-inch OLED display with a traditional notch (unlike the "Dynamic Island" of the iPhone 16). It features the same A18 chip as its more expensive sibling, but with a 4-core GPU. While potentially slightly less powerful, it supports Apple Intelligence for all the AI features in iOS 18. The new C1 cellular modem promises enhanced power efficiency and extended battery life (up to 26 hours of video playback).
However, the iPhone 16e lacks MagSafe compatibility, meaning no magnetic charging. Qi wireless charging is supported, but without the magnetic convenience. Color options are limited to black and white.
