In a February 7, 2025 Discord post, inZOI game director Hyungjun Kim unveiled details of the game's Karma system. This system will determine a Zoi's fate after death: high karma leads to peaceful passage to the afterlife, while those with low karma remain as ghosts until they atone. The specific actions required to restore karma points remain undisclosed.

Kim emphasized a balanced approach: maintaining the core gameplay while making the ghost interactions engaging. Currently, in Early Access, interactions with ghost Zois are limited to specific times and conditions, primarily involving special conversations.

Kim also expressed a desire to explore more fantasy elements within the game's realistic setting, stating, "While we’re committed to refining the realistic elements of inZOI first, I’d love to explore more fantasy-driven elements in the future...Occasionally stepping away from the game's native, ultra-realistic setting could add an extra layer of fun to our simulation of this vast and complex concept we call life!"

A Glimpse into inZOI's Karma Interactions
