How To Play Hyper Light Breaker With Friends

To dive into co-op multiplayer in Hyper Light Breaker with your friends, you'll need to set up a Private multiplayer room. Start by spawning into the Cursed Outpost, the game's hub zone. Navigate to the counter on the left of your commander, Pherus Bit, located just across from the doorway leading into the Outpost.

Interact with the counter using the Interact button (usually R1 or RB) to access the Multiplayer menu. Here, you can create, join a Breaker Team, or view your Invitations. To play with friends, select "Create Breaker Team".

In the subsequent menu, enable "Password Required" and set a unique password. Once your private Breaker Team is established, invite up to two friends via your platform's social service, whether it's PSN, Xbox, or Steam. The game supports groups of up to three players.

If your friends are in-game, they'll receive the invitation in their "Invitations" tab. Otherwise, they can join through the invitation link you sent. Your team might also appear in the "Join Breaker Team" menu for others to join if needed. For those without friends playing Hyper Light Breaker, the game offers public groups where anyone can join. You can create a public group similarly to a private one, but without a password, or use the matchmaking system to join an existing group.

Access the multiplayer menu at the Cursed Outpost and choose "Join Breaker Team". Scroll to the bottom and select "Join Random Public Breaker Team". The game will search for available public Breaker Teams and assign you to one if possible. After a brief load screen, you'll enter the world of the team's creator.

To leave a multiplayer session, return to the counter at the Cursed Outpost, open the multiplayer menu, and select the option to disconnect from the current session, returning you to your own world. Alternatively, you can simply quit the game to end the session.
