Ed Boon Confirms Homelander and Omni-Man Will Play Differently

Boon emphasized the creative freedom the team has with these characters, stating that while they could implement any abilities, the goal is to avoid overlapping powers, especially those reminiscent of Superman. "Obviously, we could do anything with the characters, but I don’t think we’re going to have both Homelander and Omni-Man have heat vision or something like that," Boon explained. This approach is designed to ensure that players experience unique gameplay when controlling either hero.

The differentiation extends beyond just their primary attacks. Boon highlighted that the development team has drawn inspiration from the characters' actions in their respective shows, translating these into unique Fatalities for each. "They’re definitely going to play differently. The main attacks are going to really differentiate them, but we’re definitely aware of the assumption that some people were making on, ‘Oh, they’re just going to be the same characters,'" Boon stated, reassuring fans that the team is committed to providing distinct experiences with Homelander and Omni-Man.
