"GTA 6 Trailer 2 Boosts The Pointer Sisters' Spotify Streams"
The Pointer Sisters' hit "Hot Together" has experienced an astonishing surge in Spotify streams following its feature in the newly released trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, which debuted just yesterday. In the mere two hours after the trailer's premiere, the 1986 track saw a staggering 182,000% increase in global streams. Although Spotify's figures have not been updated since yesterday, "Hot Together" currently stands at just over 250,000 streams, a number expected to rise significantly in the coming days.
Sulinna Ong, Spotify’s Global Head of Editorial, remarked on the phenomenon, stating, “Grand Theft Auto cuts through popular culture like almost nothing else. Music has been synonymous with the series since the very beginning, so it’s great to see fans both new and established connecting with an iconic track in this way.”
Since Rockstar Games unveiled the latest trailer for GTA 6, it has garnered an impressive 77.7 million views on YouTube within 24 hours. The resurgence of "Hot Together" is remarkable, yet not entirely surprising. When the first trailer for GTA 6 was revealed in late 2023, featuring Tom Petty’s "Love Is A Long Road," it too saw a massive spike in Spotify streams. This led to numerous fan theories about the song's connection to the game’s storyline, a trend that has yet to develop with "Hot Together."As fans eagerly await the release of GTA 6, now scheduled for May 26, 2026, after a recent delay, Rockstar is keeping the excitement alive with engaging music selections. In the meantime, enthusiasts can delve into some of the most compelling fan theories about Trailer 2 and explore our detailed list of 89 hidden details Rockstar included in the video.
