GTA 6 Expected to Make $1.3 Billion On Its First Day

Are you eagerly awaiting the release of Grand Theft Auto 6? Ned Luke, the voice actor behind GTA 5's Michael De Santa, has shared exciting insights and predictions about the much-anticipated sequel. Dive in to discover what to expect from GTA 6 and its development journey.
Rockstar Games To Do Something Unexpected For GTA 6
GTA 5 Actor Expects GTA 6 to Make $1.3 Billion On Its First Day
In a recent interview with the YouTube channel Fall Damage, Ned Luke expressed his confidence that GTA 6 will surpass all expectations, predicting it will rake in a staggering $1.3 billion on its first day of release. Reflecting on the phenomenal success of GTA 5, which earned over $800 million in its first 24 hours back in 2013, Luke believes that GTA 6 will shatter these records.
He urged fans to remain patient, assuring them that the wait will be well worth it. "From what I've seen, it's going to be amazing," Luke stated, highlighting the innovative and unpredictable nature of Rockstar Games' projects.
According to projections by DFC Intelligence, GTA 6 is expected to sell over 40 million copies and generate $3.2 billion in its debut year, with $1 billion attributed solely to pre-orders.
The Future Of GTA 5 Characters In GTA 6
Luke also touched on the possibility of GTA 5 characters making appearances in the new installment. While his character, Michael, has been absent from GTA Online since its inception, the other protagonists, Trevor and Franklin, have been featured. Luke hinted at the potential for Michael to return in a speculated final DLC for GTA Online or even in GTA 6 itself.
Steven Ogg, the voice actor for Trevor, shared with ScreenRant in January 2025 his vision for Trevor's role in GTA 6, suggesting a dramatic "passing the torch" moment at the game's outset.
Luke remained coy about the characters' future, stating, "Maybe [Michael, Franklin, and Trevor will be] in GTA 6, like [its online mode]. Maybe. Maybe not. You know Rockstar is not going to tell you anything. And if we say anything, you know they will not be very happy." Despite the actors' enthusiasm, no official word has been released on the characters' inclusion in GTA 6.
GTA 6 May Be At Its Testing Phase
Former Rockstar Games Animator Mike York suggested that GTA 6 is currently in its in-house testing phase. In a now-deleted video interview with YouTuber Kiwi Talkz, reported by GamesRadar, York emphasized the game's unique and unpredictable nature, distinguishing it from other open-world titles.
York noted, "There are a lot of things that can happen that you don't really think about until some random kid in his basement tries it, you know? You really don't." He believes that while the game is still being refined with additional features, it is likely playable and being thoroughly tested internally.
Rockstar Games unveiled GTA 6 with a trailer in December 2023 but has remained tight-lipped about further details. Previous reports hinted at a Fall 2025 release, based on financial projections from Take-Two Interactive in 2024, yet an official release date remains unconfirmed.
