Among these, Golden Rations stand out as the rarest and most vital for significant in-game upgrades. However, the game offers little guidance on how to acquire these precious resources, leaving players to navigate through trial and error. If you're eager to bypass the guesswork, here's how you can reliably secure Golden Rations.

Where to Get Golden Rations

In the early access version of Hyper Light Breaker, you have two primary methods to obtain Golden Rations: exploration and cycle resets. During your runs, keep an eye out for chest icons on the map. These chests often contain resources that can be used for purchases or upgrades, and you might just find Golden Rations inside. A chest containing these valuable items will be marked with the Golden Ration icon above it.

Areas marked with Prisms, denoted by the golden diamond icon on your map, are hotspots for Golden Ration chests.

Alternatively, you can leverage cycle resets. A cycle represents each instance of the Overgrowth and resets when your Rez count hits zero. Upon exhausting your revives, you'll be prompted to either retry the map at the cost of resources or reset the entire cycle at the Cursed Outpost. Upon resetting a cycle, you'll receive a score, and ranking up can reward you with Golden Rations.

What are Golden Rations For?

Golden Rations are essential materials in Hyper Light Breaker, pivotal for advancing your gameplay. They are primarily used at your home base to unlock permanent upgrades for your characters or to access new services from vendors.

Moreover, Golden Rations are key to unlocking Sycoms, which define your chosen Breaker's stats and core passive abilities. These items are crucial as they shape your Breaker's playstyle, making them highly valuable.

Upon obtaining your first Golden Ration, we highly recommend investing in the extra medkit upgrade from Pherus Bit. This upgrade can significantly ease future runs, especially given the game's harsh penalties for combat errors.

If you die during a run, rest assured that any resources you've collected, including Golden Rations, will remain in your inventory. However, be aware that the weapons, amps, and perks you've equipped will suffer one pip's worth of damage, risking permanent destruction.
