Exclusive: Interview with Nintendo's Doug Bowser in San Francisco

Nintendo enthusiasts on the West Coast have a new reason to celebrate as the gaming giant opens its doors in San Francisco today, May 15. Located at 331 Powell Street in Union Square, the Nintendo San Francisco store marks the company's second official retail location in the United States, following the success of its New York counterpart. Previously known as the Nintendo World Store, the New York location underwent renovations and rebranding to become Nintendo NY before reopening in 2016.

IGN had the opportunity to visit the San Francisco store and explore what Nintendo has in store for its fans. Additionally, we sat down with Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser to discuss the strategic timing behind opening their first store on the West Coast.
