"The Two Embers: Part One Unveils Sky: Children of the Light's Origin"

Exploring the Story Behind The Two Embers
Divided into two parts, The Two Embers delves into the origin story of Sky in a way that only thatgamecompany can. Part One follows the intertwined journeys of two children separated by time but united by something far greater. The tale begins with a young orphan living on the outskirts of The Ruler’s City—a once-thriving metropolis now slowly crumbling.
One fateful day, the child stumbles upon a wounded baby manatee, sparking a journey filled with emotion, discovery, and subtle acts of compassion. Above it all, The Ruler watches over the fading kingdom as an ominous storm looms closer.
This silent film tells its story purely through visuals, music, and raw emotion. Despite the absence of dialogue or voiceovers, the sorrow of the child and the quiet hope brought by the manatee come through vividly.
Sky: Children of the Light has already shared a first look at The Two Embers: Part One, giving fans a glimpse into this moving cinematic experience.
A New Chapter Every Week in Sky Cinema
Each week, a new segment of the film will be unlocked inside Sky Cinema, a specially designed in-game theater created exclusively for this event. Alongside each chapter, exclusive in-game content will become available, allowing players to immerse themselves further in the world and themes of the story through interactive gameplay.
Bringing Animation Into the Game World
Rather than releasing The Two Embers as a standalone film or through traditional streaming services, thatgamecompany has chosen to integrate it directly into the game world. This innovative approach elevates Sky: Children of the Light beyond conventional gaming, transforming it into a multi-layered artistic experience. It's a bold step forward, especially following the success of Aurora’s concert, showing that the game continues to evolve in exciting ways.
Produced by Light & Realm in collaboration with thatgamecompany, and co-produced by Illusorium Studios and Orchid, The Two Embers represents one of the most ambitious transmedia storytelling efforts from the studio to date.
If you haven’t yet experienced Sky: Children of the Light, now is the perfect time to begin your journey. You can download the game directly from the Google Play Store.
