Dune: Awakening Release Pushed to 2025
The highly anticipated open-world survival MMO based on Frank Herbert's sci-fi masterpiece and Denis Villeneuve's film adaptations will now launch on June 10, 2025, developer Funcom announced today.
Early Access Opportunity
Players eager to explore Arrakis can gain five-day early access starting June 5 by purchasing either the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition of the game.
Development Extended Based on Beta Feedback
Funcom explained the delay stems from valuable player input during the Persistent Closed Beta. The additional development time will allow for critical improvements before launch.
The studio also announced plans for an expanded beta weekend next month, giving more players the chance to experience the game and provide feedback.
Combat Deep Dive Coming Today
To offset the delay news, Funcom will host a live combat showcase today at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET, revealing new details about:
- PvP and PvE combat systems
- Character archetypes
- Skill progression
