For better or worse, nearly every gacha RPG or collectible-driven genre leans into anime aesthetics. Usually, this means a bland protagonist orbited by gorgeous, hyper-competent women. But where others just dip a toe in, Dragon Traveler dives headfirst—full-on chaotic energy, like Del Boy tumbling through a bar.

Dragon Traveler is a fresh gacha RPG where you step into the role of Fafnir, a dragon so lazy he’s practically a fossil. He’s dragged into an adventure with Princess Siegfried, sparking a wild mix of slapstick humor and a cast of dazzling, capable women. The comedy is exaggerated, but it’s wrapped in a smarter, more self-aware package.

That said, calling it “self-aware” might be generous. Outside of these standout elements, gameplay follows the expected rhythm: build your team, engage in battles, use special abilities, and target enemies. It’s the standard loop, but with a splash of colorful absurdity.

Whether Dragon Traveler clicks with you depends on your taste for modern fantasy comedy anime. If you're more of a nostalgic fan, the tropes might blur into one long, familiar blur.
