BioWare will announce the official release date for *Dragon Age: The Veilguard* today, August 15th, with a special trailer premiering at 9:00 AM PDT (12:00 PM EDT).BioWare shared the news on Twitter (X), expressing excitement to share this milestone with fans. They also detailed a roadmap of upcoming reveals leading up to launch:

A Long Road to Thedas
The development of Dragon Age: The Veilguard has spanned nearly a decade, facing numerous delays. Development started in 2015, following Dragon Age: Inquisition. However, BioWare's focus shifted to other projects, including Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem, impacting The Veilguard's (then codenamed "Joplin") progress. Further complicating matters, the initial design clashed with BioWare's live-service strategy, leading to a complete development halt.
The project was revived in 2018 under the codename "Morrison," and eventually announced as Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in 2022 before receiving its current title.
Despite the challenges, Dragon Age: The Veilguard is launching this fall for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Get ready, because your journey to Thedas is about to begin!
