Bethesda and id Software have unveiled an exciting new demonstration of *DOOM: The Dark Ages* during the Xbox showcase, confirming the long-awaited release date of May 15. This latest installment in the iconic DOOM series transports players to the Medieval era, promising a gameplay experience that significantly diverges from its predecessor, *DOOM: Eternal*.
In *DOOM: The Dark Ages*, players will embody the role of a relentless "killing machine" and a formidable tank. The game shifts away from the constant jumping and extensive parkour seen in *DOOM: Eternal*, focusing instead on ground-based combat. Players will utilize an extensive arsenal to decimate demons, with key weapons including a shield and a mace. A thrilling new feature allows players to commandeer a giant mech to battle against slightly smaller demonic foes, adding a new layer of intensity to the gameplay. Additionally, players can take to the skies by riding a dragon during the campaign, enhancing the sense of power and freedom.
*DOOM: The Dark Ages* also introduces a flexible difficulty customization system, enabling players to tailor their experience. This system allows adjustments to enemy damage, challenge levels, and other parameters, ensuring that players can enjoy the game at their preferred difficulty.
