Snapchat's 2024 Snap Recap: A Year in Review

Snapchat has introduced a new feature for 2024: Snap Recap. Unlike data-heavy year-end recaps from other platforms, Snap Recap offers a curated slideshow of your Snapchat memories, selecting a single snap from each month. It's a more casual, less analytical look back at your year.

What is Snap Recap?

Snap Recap is a newly launched feature for 2024, showcasing a selection of your saved Snaps, one for each month. It differs from similar features offered by Spotify or Twitch, focusing on a visual journey through your year rather than detailed statistics. The recap seamlessly transitions into the Memories feature, allowing you to explore further flashbacks from previous years.

How to View Your 2024 Snap Recap

Accessing your Snap Recap is straightforward:

1. From the main Snapchat camera screen, swipe upwards to access Memories. Avoid pressing the shutter button.
2. Your 2024 Snap Recap will be prominently displayed as a highlighted video within the Memories menu.
3. Tap the Snap Recap video (avoiding the share icon) to begin viewing.

The recap plays automatically; tap the screen to advance. You can save, edit, share, or add the recap to your Story. Like other Snaps, it remains private unless you choose to share it.

Why Don't I Have a Snapchat Recap?

If your Snap Recap isn't appearing, remember that Snapchat is rolling this feature out gradually. Your recap might not yet be generated. The number of saved Snaps is a factor in whether a recap is created; infrequent Snapchat usage might prevent one from being generated. Unfortunately, requesting a recap from Snapchat support is not possible.
