Digimon Alysion: A New Mobile TCG Enters the Arena
During the March 20th DIGIMON CON 2025 livestream, Bandai Namco unveiled *Digimon Alysion*, a free-to-play digital trading card game currently in development. Following the success of mobile TCGs like *Pokémon TCG Live* and *Marvel Snap*, *Digimon Alysion* aims to expand the Digimon TCG into the mobile market.Players can collect cards featuring various Digimon and characters, build powerful decks, and battle other players online. A significant addition is the planned inclusion of a deep story mode, offering a compelling single-player experience beyond competitive gameplay.
The reveal trailer showcased glimpses of gameplay and introduced an all-female cast, hinting at the story mode's narrative. New characters include Kanata Hondo, Futre, and Valner Dragnogh, alongside a new Digimon, Gemmon.
While a release date remains unannounced, Bandai Namco mentioned an upcoming closed beta test, with further details to follow.
Digimon Story: Time Stranger – More Details Emerge
DIGIMON CON 2025 also shed more light on Digimon Story: Time Stranger. Producer Ryosuke Hara discussed the game's history, characters, and showcased special moves of featured Digimon.
Hara confirmed the three starter Digimon—Patamon, Gomamon, and DemiDevimon—popular choices from the original Digimon Adventure anime, confirming fan speculation based on promotional art.
The trailer highlighted over 450 Digimon, including Angewomon, Gallantmon, and the ever-popular Agumon, making Time Stranger the largest roster in the series, surpassing the 330 Digimon in Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker’s Memory.
Hara also unveiled the game's story and main characters. Players can choose between Dan Yuki and Kanan Yuki, secret agents for ADAMAS, an organization combating threats to both humans and Digimon. Inori Misono and her partner Aegiomon join as key characters in the adventure. The game's title hints at a time-traveling narrative, with the protagonist journeying through different time periods.
The event also featured announcements for the Digimon Anime's 25th Anniversary PV, new TCG starter decks and booster packs, and a new anime series, Digimon Beatbreak, premiering in October 2025. The Digimon franchise is clearly poised for a big year, so keep an eye out for more news.
