Development of Crysis 4 Temporarily Paused Due to Financial Difficulties
Crytek has announced a restructuring that includes the reduction of its workforce by approximately 60 employees, representing about 15% of its 400-person team. This comes as the company addresses financial challenges.
Simultaneously, Crytek revealed that development of the next Crysis game has been temporarily paused, a decision made during the third quarter of 2024. The studio is now focusing all its resources on Hunt: Showdown 1896.
While Crytek explored reassigning affected staff to other projects like Hunt: Showdown 1896 and the upcoming Crysis title, this proved unfeasible despite cost-cutting measures. Layoffs were deemed necessary.
