Rebel Wolves studio has unveiled details about its upcoming vampire RPG, highlighting the central theme of duality in its protagonist. Project director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz describes the character as a modern-day Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, a concept largely unexplored in video games. This duality, he believes, will offer a unique and surreal gaming experience.

Tomaszkiewicz also discussed the challenge of balancing the character's human and vampire states. Players will experience periods where the character is a powerless human, creating a stark contrast with their vampiric abilities. This design choice, however, necessitates careful consideration, as the familiarity of standard RPG elements might lead to player confusion if deviated from too drastically.

The studio faces the classic RPG development dilemma: innovate or adhere to established conventions. Tomaszkiewicz points to the mixed reception of Kingdom Come: Deliverance’s limited save system as a cautionary tale, illustrating the importance of balancing innovation with player expectations. Even seemingly minor changes can spark significant debate amongst genre enthusiasts.

The game’s gameplay premiere is slated for Summer 2025.
