Prepare yourself, Guardian – Bungie has revealed exciting updates coming to its sci-fi shooter Destiny 2, featuring two new expansions along with significant seasonal and core gameplay improvements. Dubbed the "Year of Prophecy," this marks the first time Destiny 2 will deliver four major content releases in a single year.

Year of Prophecy Content Roadmap

The Year of Prophecy introduces two paid expansions supplemented by two free major updates for all players. The journey begins with "Rite of the Nine," currently available at no additional cost, offering a reimagined dungeon experience for both veterans and newcomers.

The revamped dungeons – Prophecy, Spire of the Watcher, and Ghosts of the Deep – feature familiar environments with new mechanics, letting Guardians reconnect with Orin while exploring refreshed weapon arsenals.

The Edge of Fate Expansion

On July 15, Destiny 2 launches its first major paid expansion: "The Edge of Fate." This begins a new multiyear narrative arc that brings the enigmatic Nine back into focus, with two key characters taking center stage – newcomer Lodi and Warlock Vanguard Ikora Rey.

Guardians will explore the mysterious new destination Kepler, featuring puzzle-based gameplay and deep exploration mechanics inspired by Destiny's dungeon design philosophy. The expansion introduces:

• New enemy factions
• Destination-specific abilities
• Expanded weapon and gear options

Core Game Updates

Launching alongside The Edge of Fate on July 15, substantial system improvements will enhance the core Destiny 2 experience. Key features include:

• Revamped armor and gear systems for deeper buildcrafting
• The new Portal activity selector interface
• 50+ fresh activity modifiers for gameplay customization
• New Solo Ops mode designed for single-player sessions
