Year of Prophecy Roadmap Unveiled During The Edge of Fate Event

Bungie continues to expand its free-to-play multiplayer shooter with fresh content. During the May 7 livestream event, the studio revealed Destiny 2's Year of Prophecy roadmap, outlining major updates scheduled throughout the year.

This year introduces a revamped content release structure. As explained by the developers: "Beginning with Year of Prophecy, we're delivering four major content releases annually — two premium expansions and two free seasonal updates."

These updates will introduce new events, Exotic missions, gear, and rewards. Crucially, this new model ensures all players can access seasonal activities regardless of expansion ownership.

The Edge of Fate Expansion Launches July 15

Year of Prophecy begins with The Edge of Fate expansion on July 15, transporting players to the new Kepler destination with unique abilities and allies.

The update introduces the Portal system — a streamlined activity selector offering instant access to curated playlists matching different preferences and playstyles.
