Crunchyroll has added Kardboard Kings to its Android library! This single-player shop management game puts you in the shoes of a card shop owner, where running a business becomes an adventure. Originally released on PC in February 2022, this title from Henry’s House, Oscar Brittain, and Rob Gross (published by Akupara Games) has now made its way to consoles and mobile devices, courtesy of Crunchyroll. What's the Kardboard Kings Story?

You play as Harry Hsu, inheriting his father's card shop. His dad was a renowned card collector and champion of the legendary card game, Warlock. Now, Harry is the new face behind the counter, navigating the exciting world of buying, selling, and trading cards.

Harry isn't alone; he has Giuseppe, a quick-witted cockatoo business partner with an uncanny ability to spot a great deal. This feathered friend offers invaluable assistance in Harry's seaside card shop.

As Harry, you'll strive to keep customers happy (or, if you're feeling mischievous, maybe even pull a fast one for extra profit!). The game features charming characters, witty dialogue, and references to other card games and anime. Over 100 unique cards boast quirky illustrations, including shiny variants.

Gameplay Details

The core gameplay is simple: buy low, sell high, and profit! However, as you progress, card conditions and set rarities fluctuate, adding layers of strategy. Foil finishes, abilities, and popularity all impact a card's value.

Kardboard Kings also includes a roguelite deckbuilding mode on Card Game Island. Here, you'll face tough duelists, host tournaments, throw booster pack parties, and even hold clearance sales to manage inventory.
