Bring Large Dung Pods
The Hirabami present a unique challenge in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. Unlike solitary monsters, these creatures travel in packs, significantly increasing the difficulty. Your best bet? Large Dung Pods. These will disperse the pack, allowing you to tackle them one at a time.
Use Heavy Slicing Pod Slinger Ammo
Hirabami's aerial acrobatics can make for a frustrating fight, especially for melee users. Heavy Slicing Pod Slinger ammo is your answer. These can knock them from the air. If you're short on ammo, severing the Hirabami's tail yields a Tail Claw Shard, which can be crafted into more ammo.
Utilize Environmental Traps
The Iceshard Cliffs arena offers several environmental hazards to your advantage. Ice Spikes, Floating Rubble, and Brittle Ice Pillars can be triggered to stun and damage the Hirabami, creating crucial openings.
Aim for the Head
The head remains the most effective target, though its airborne habits make it tricky to hit consistently. Ranged weapons have a clear advantage, while melee users should focus on attacking the neck when the creature descends.
Watch the Tail
The Hirabami's unpredictable attacks, including bites, spit, and devastating dive attacks, demand constant vigilance. While its head is the main focus, be mindful of its tail—a powerful weapon it uses to smash opponents.

How to Capture Hirabami in Monster Hunter Wilds

Capturing a Hirabami requires reducing its health to 20% or less (indicated by a skull icon on the minimap). Quickly set a Pitfall Trap or Shock Trap, then swiftly use a Tranquilizer before it escapes. Success guarantees a reward, though it limits the potential for extra materials from hitting weak points.
Mastering the Hirabami hunt requires strategic use of environmental traps, proper ammo management, and awareness of its aerial attacks. Don't hesitate to utilize Large Dung Pods or the SOS feature for assistance.
Monster Hunter Wilds is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
