The mobile strategy tower defense game, Code Geass: Lost Stories, is ceasing global operations, marking a swift end to its international run. While the Japanese version will continue, the global servers are set to close on August 29th, 2024. Based on the popular Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion franchise, the game, developed by f4samurai and DMM Games and published by Komoe, launched globally in September 2023, falling short of its first anniversary.

Effective immediately, in-app purchases and new downloads are disabled. The game's global social media presence will also vanish on the closure date. While the reasons haven't been explicitly stated by the developers, low download numbers and underwhelming global reviews likely contributed to the decision. Many licensed anime gacha games struggle to maintain significant player bases outside Japan, where spending tends to be higher.

Despite its blend of RPG, action, and tower defense elements, rooted in a beloved anime franchise, Code Geass: Lost Stories couldn't sustain its global audience. However, Japanese players can still experience the game via the Google Play Store.
