CES 2025: Handheld Gaming Takes Center Stage
CES 2025 saw a flurry of exciting announcements, particularly in the handheld gaming sector. From new PS5 accessories to a groundbreaking SteamOS device, and whispers of a Nintendo Switch successor, the show highlighted the continued strength of the portable gaming market.
Sony's Midnight Black PS5 Accessories
Sony expanded its popular Midnight Black PS5 collection with a range of stylish new accessories. These complement the existing DualSense controller and console covers, all featuring a sophisticated dark finish. The new additions include:

Lenovo Legion Go S: SteamOS on the Go
Lenovo unveiled the Legion Go S, the world's first officially licensed SteamOS handheld. This 8-inch device boasts VRR1 support, ergonomic TrueStrike controllers, and hall-effect joysticks. Key features include cloud saves for seamless PC-to-handheld transitions and remote play functionality.
Full access to the Steam ecosystem—including your library, cloud, chat, and recording features—is integrated. System updates are handled directly through SteamOS. The Legion Go S will launch in May 2025 at $499.99 USD, with a Windows version arriving in January 2025 at $729.99 USD. Valve also confirmed that they're working on expanding SteamOS compatibility to other handheld devices.

Beyond Sony and Lenovo, other companies showcased their latest innovations. Nvidia revealed the RTX 50-series graphics cards, and Acer presented the eco-friendly Aspire Vero 16 laptop.
