Lenovo Legion Go S: SteamOS on the Go
Lenovo unveiled the Legion Go S, the world's first officially licensed SteamOS handheld. This 8-inch device boasts VRR1 support, ergonomic TrueStrike controllers, and hall-effect joysticks. Key features include cloud saves for seamless PC-to-handheld transitions and remote play functionality.
Full access to the Steam ecosystem—including your library, cloud, chat, and recording features—is integrated. System updates are handled directly through SteamOS. The Legion Go S will launch in May 2025 at $499.99 USD, with a Windows version arriving in January 2025 at $729.99 USD. Valve also confirmed that they're working on expanding SteamOS compatibility to other handheld devices.
Beyond the Headliners
Beyond Sony and Lenovo, other companies showcased their latest innovations. Nvidia revealed the RTX 50-series graphics cards, and Acer presented the eco-friendly Aspire Vero 16 laptop. Rumors of a Nintendo Switch 2 prototype circulating at CES 2025 remain unconfirmed by Nintendo. However, the show clearly demonstrated the continued innovation and excitement within the handheld gaming market.
